Member Outreach:
Communicate [in person or virtual] with current NYSARH members to:

  • Fill in member profiles in the Wild Apricot membership database
  • Verify that all enrolled members can login and get emails
  • Show them features on the NYSARH website that may be useful to their organizations such as the diversity dashboard and Job postings
  • Enter information about the services they provide and the regions they serve
  • Inquire how else NYSARH may be helpful to them

Direct Service:
Engage in service learning activities that provide Direct Service to rural residents

  • Staffing a NYSARH table at health fairs and conferences
  • Providing information on wellness, prevention and healthcare
  • Participating in projects requested by NYSARH member organizations

Event Engagement:

  • Rural Health Symposium [fall]
  • Rural Health Awards [fall]
  • Public Health Partnership Conference [spring]

Communication:

  •  Prepare newsletter articles and social media posts at least monthly
  • Prepare video clips and press releases as needed
  • Develop/assemble a set of rural photographs to be used in NYSARH publications

Membership Committee Support:

  • Attend monthly virtual meetings
  • Contact lapsed members within two weeks of expiration to inquire reason
  • Contact new members within two weeks of joining to welcome them
  • Develop and place attractive invitations for new members and for current members
    to enhance their engagement with NYSARH Committees
  • Participate in person* to help with logistics:
  • Rural Health Symposium: Clayton, September 17-18, 2026
  • *Public Health Partnership Conference:  2027
    *NYSARH will cover travel and hotel expenses.

Research & Policy Project:

  • Develop a system for tracking the impact of policy changes on NYSARH member organizations, and update this tabulation regularly as circumstances warrant.
  • Collect stories (written, audio, video, as appropriate) from NYSARH members and rural communities about the impact of policy changes.
  • Assist with data collection and analysis for Rural Obstetric Emergency Readiness and Training Assistance (ROBERTA) project.
